We designed the Our Family in Two Homes' course to empower you in making thoughtful decisions for your family's future.
This highly practical course is made for PEI parents going through a separation. If you are already working with a family lawyer or divorce professional, you will be better prepared for those consultations. And if have not yet engaged with an advisor, this course will help you prepare to ask the right questions and get the advice you need - in a more cost-effective manner.
As the sections unfold, you will be guided to:
- engage in your own self discovery, to help you find you again
- identify your needs, concerns, hopes and values
- explore communication challenges that get in the way of productive discussions
- gain insights and strategies to help with difficult conversations
- address parenting and financial questions
- gather and organize information
- build a list of essential ingredients for your family's best outcome
- prepare for meaningful and efficient consultations with your lawyer and other supportive professionals.
The course includes the Our Family in Two Homes Workbook, along with video tutorials, a companion Notebook, and printable handouts - all crafted to help you organize information and articulate your thoughts and concerns clearly.
The preparation you do with this course will help you communicate with your chosen advisor, saving in unnecessary fees and enabling your advisor to provide the highest value of service and efficiency, focused on your unique needs.
Meet the Creator of
Our Family in Two Homes
Jacinta Gallant, a lawyer and mediator in Prince Edward Island, has spent decades working with parents who want their family to thrive - not just survive - after separation. "Never Cut What Can Be Untied" is her inspiration and supporting the well-being of children and families is her mission.
Jacinta's Our Family in Two Homes workbook is being used with families around the world, and she wanted to make it more accessible to Island families. So she created this empower ing course to help parents:
- reflect on their needs, concerns, hopes and values in this major life transition
- prepare for productive discussions with their co-parent
- gather the information needed to make good decisions
- find the essential ingredients for their family's best future, and
- work efficiently and meaningfully with their chosen legal advisor.
Jacinta's mission is to help parents and children make the healthiest transition to "two homes".
